We listen, act, and transform
Kurt’s path to the therapy room was shaped by service, leadership, and a deep respect for what people carry beneath the surface. After two decades in the Marine Corps, he retired from military service in 2021 and brought that same mission-driven focus into the mental health field. His clinical work reflects a life spent helping people navigate pressure, uncertainty, trauma, identity shifts, and major turning points.
Licensed in Minnesota and Virginia, Kurt is a certified EMDR therapist with training in evidence-based approaches including DBT and CBT. He works with clients experiencing anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, narcissistic personality disorder, trauma, relational conflict, emotional reactivity, and long-standing behavioral patterns. He is especially skilled at helping clients make sense of complex experiences, organize what feels overwhelming, and build a clearer path forward.
Kurt’s background gives him a strong connection with military service members, veterans, first responders, professionals, leaders, and clients who have spent much of life performing, protecting, managing, or pushing through. He understands how discipline and survival skills can help people endure difficult seasons—and how those same patterns may eventually need to evolve for healing, connection, and personal growth.
In therapy, Kurt brings clarity, warmth, and direct engagement. He is collaborative, thoughtful, and practical, helping clients understand the roots of their symptoms while developing tools they can actually use outside the therapy room. His work blends structure with humanity: space to process what happened, support for what is happening now, and a focused path toward what comes next.
Clients often seek Kurt when they are ready for therapy that feels purposeful, honest, and deeply respectful of their lived experience. Whether someone is working through trauma, managing symptoms, rebuilding identity, strengthening relationships, or trying to change patterns that have shaped their life for years, Kurt helps clients move toward insight, stability, confidence, and meaningful change.
